In 2007 when Dana Moore’s daughter lettered in Cross Country, Dana began looking for a letter sweater for her. Her daughter, Lily, tacked the letter up on her bulletin board and there it stayed.

As Dana looked online for resources, she realized that most of the letter sweaters she found were stuck back in the 1950s with a look that was reminiscent of the days when malt shops, poodle skirts and sock hops were in vogue. No wonder girls today don’t want to wear them!

Dana founded She Lettered in 2007 and designed a sweater that was contemporary, comfortable, and fashion-conscious, yet still evoked the sense of school pride that letter sweaters were meant to convey.

Today, She Lettered offers a contemporary swoop-neck design with attached hoodie in 19 school color combinations. You simply send your letter (and other school emblems, year, and chevrons), and She Lettered professionally affixes them, packages your sweater in a beautiful keepsake box, and sends it back to you ready to wear.

She Lettered has brought the letter sweater back in style.
